MINUTES OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2004

The regular meeting of the Ridgewood Board took place at the home of Dick and Jan Feaster on September 21, 2004.  In attendance were:  Dick Feaster, Carole and Ray Pfoutz, Larry Bertuccelli, Don Nester, Iris Gardner, Sandy Piercey, and Carole Robinson.

President Carole Pfoutz called the meeting to order at approximately 3 p.m. and passed out copies of the agenda.  Minutes had been previously submitted by E-mail to all members of the committee and approved without changes or corrections.  Iris Gardner gave out copies of the detailed Treasureršs report, showing a total of $512.

Dick Feaster reported on Block Captain/Neighborhood Watch activities and said that no one is coming forward to act as assistant to the block captains.  While there is hesitation on the part of all members regarding adding too many duties to those already taken on by the Block Captains, it was felt that it would be a nice touch for them to extend welcome visits to new residents in their area and to bring whatever they felt appropriate as a small gift.  A cap of $10 would be paid for out of the treasury for this.  Larry Bertuccelli felt that there should be a meeting at least once a year of Block Captains.

Dick Feaster had previously reported that Dr. Westbie has an abundance of mulch that is free to anyone wanting to come and get it.  Hešll check with Dr. Westbie regarding putting his phone number in an announcement to go in the next newsletter.

Don Nester reported that he hasn't worked on the web site recently but feels there are still things he wants to do on it.  The Board congratulated him on having already done an outstanding job.

Ray Pfoutz said that he has looked over Ted Carboza's house plans (lot 60) and that everything seemed to be in order.  He plans to start building in 2006 and will be retiring around that time and moving to Ridgewood permanently.

Sandy Piercey needs ladies to host afternoon activities in order to set up a schedule for  the oncoming months.  She'll be getting together with Carole Pfoutz and Carole Robinson  prior to the newsletter deadline of October 22nd.

Larry Bertuccelli reported that he was approximately 80% finished with the first draft of  new by-laws when his computer crashed.  If hešs able to retrieve his files hešll get together with Don Nester and E-mail their results to the Board prior to the November meeting.  If necessary, we'll call a special meeting dedicated to the by-laws.

Thanks was extended to Don Nester for having the county remove the pine tree on Parkridge between Crestridge and Ridgewood.  Don will contact Carole with the name of the person responsible so it can be mentioned in the newsletter, a copy of which will be sent to his office.

Carole Pfoutz will call Linda Grey regarding whether she would again handle the Christmas decoration awards for this year.

Sandy Piercey said that they would be willing to host our annual Christmas party on December 12th  from 3 to 6 p.m.  As usual, guests will be asked to bring whatever they want to drink and a fingered.

Don Nester reported that he has finally been able to get Avenida del Sol recognized on county maps, although it has had to be renamed "Avenida del Sol East."

Discussion was held on the subject of private gates and how the fire or sheriffšs department can get bypass them in case of an emergency.  This is a problem that will be looked into further in hope of coming up with a solution that will still ensure the homeowneršs privacy.

There are several old tires on lot ? (help!!!) that need to be removed.  Don Nester will contact Don Denhard to find out who is the owner of the property.

The next regular meeting of the Board will be at the Gardneršs on November 16th at 3 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Iris R. Gardner
