Ridgewood Neighborhood Association
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on March 26, 2006
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 3:04 PM at the home of Forrest and Joyce Dobbs. Board members in attendance were President Larry Bertuccelli, Vice-president Don Nester, Secretary Forrest Dobbs, and Treasurer Iris Gardner. Others present were Dick Feaster (Neighborhood Watch and Block Captain Committee Chairperson), Carole Pfoutz (CC&R Committee Chairperson), and Carole Robinson (Newsletter Editor).
Minutes of the last regular meeting of January 24, 2006, which had previously been e-mailed to Board members, were approved without corrections or amendments.
Treasurer Iris Gardner gave the treasurer’s report, indicating a current positive balance. She also reported that 70 families have paid their dues which is about 50% of the residents of Ridgewood.
Dick Feaster reported that there was nothing new from the Neighborhood Watch and Block Captain committee.
Don Nester reported that he had spoken to the owner of Lot 40 and that building plans for that lot would be submitted to the Architectural Committee as soon as they had been approved by the County.
Carole Pfoutz reported that there was nothing new from the CC&R committee.
Don Nester reported that several updates have been made to the Ridgewood website.
Carole Robinson reported that the May newsletter would include information about the Summer get-together on June 11, 2006 from 2-5 PM at Scott and Tami Henning’s home and an article and pictures of the activities Ray and Carole Pfoutz enjoyed with the foster children of Victoria Townsend. Carole Pfoutz issued an invitation for anyone interested in planning similar activities with these children to let Ms. Townsend know. The deadline for submission of articles for the May newsletter is May 5, 2006.
Dick Feaster gave a follow-up report on his investigation regarding the possibility of a Ridgewood propane co-op. He had surveyed five of seven local propane dealers to see if they would be interested in bidding. Responses were forthcoming from several of the dealers indicating they would be interested if the length of the contract and the cost of replacement of tanks could be worked out. The Board approved sending Ridgewood residents letters asking if they would be interested in such a co-op. The letters would ask that responses be returned within two weeks of the mailing. Residents who have questions will be invited to call Dick Feaster. If the returned letters indicate a positive response, the Board also approved a proposed letter that would then be sent to the seven propane companies asking for their bids.
Discussion was held regarding a Spring clean-up. Responses to last year’s event were very positive, so it was decided to continue this year. The time and place to meet will be decided and announced at a later date.
Don Nester reported that SBC’s high-speed Internet is coming. It already is connected to several residences and should be available to all within six to nine months.
The next regular meeting will be on May 25, 2006 at 3:00 PM at the home of Iris and Bob Gardner.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:34 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Forrest W. Dobbs, Secretary
