Ridgewood Neighborhood Association
Minutes of the regular meeting of the board of directors on July 12, 2007
The regular meeting of the board of directors was called to order at 3:06 PM at the home of Forrest and Joyce Dobbs. Board members in attendance were President Don Nester, Secretary Forrest Dobbs, Member-at-Large Sandy Piercey. Also present were Carole Pfoutz (CC&R Committee Chairperson) and Joyce Dobbs (Ridgette Chairperson).
Minutes of the last regular meeting of May 21, 2007 were approved without corrections or amendments.
No treasurer’s report was available. Membership now stands at 92.
It was discussed that there should be a back-up chairperson for the Block Captain/Neighborhood Watch committee. Fred and Elaine Khachi have assumed the block captain duties of Area 3.
Barbara Harvey will replace Don Nester and assume the duties of chairperson for the Architectural Control Committee. Joan Bergsund has been added to that committee. It was reported that there are survey stakes on lots 133 and 134. No notice for building on those properties has been given to the Association. The Association is to be notified if plans are submitted to the County and permits are requested.
Carole Pfoutz was requested to contact the residents who have a car on blocks on Ridgewood Dr.
Joyce Dobbs reported that the Ridgettes’ schedule will be sent out by Monday, July 16. A volunteer is still needed to make arrangements for a restaurant luncheon on Oct. 17.
Don Nester reported that the problems with the website have been corrected.
The date for publication of the next newsletter was set for July 27, 2007. Carole Robinson will be notified of this decision. Articles will include a thank-you to Bruce and Virginia McDonell for caring for the neighborhood by spraying for star thistle and picking up trash, to Anna Lewis for saving a Ridgewood walker from attack by the resident turkeys, to Jeanne Legg for hosting the Games Day in May, to Dennis and Beverly Wagner for clearing the area around the new sign, and to Doug and Sally Clark for hosting the annual Summer Party/General Meeting at their home. An article on the care and feeding of oaks, several colored photos, and mention of what to do to resolve the issue of a neighbor’s barking dog with regard to County noise ordinances will be included. An addendum to the May Ridgewood Residents List will be included also. Don Nester and Forrest Dobbs will be sent an advanced copy.
It was suggested that Dave Palmer would be a good candidate to fill the term of the office of vice-president, a position vacated by Don Nester when he assumed the duties of president. If Mr. Palmer agrees, his term will run through June 30, 2008.
A review of the Block Captain Guidelines was discussed at length by the Board. A revised copy will be sent to Board members for their input before going to Dick Feaster, the Block Captain Committee chairperson.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 3 PM on September 4, 2007 at the home of Carole and Ray Pfoutz.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Forrest Dobbs, Secretary
