Ridgewood Neighborhood Association

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on September 4, 2007

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 3:07 PM at the home of Carole and Ray Pfoutz.  Board members in attendance were President Don Nester, Secretary Forrest Dobbs, and Treasurer Ralph Legg.  Also in attendance were Carole Pfoutz (CC&R Committee Chairperson), Barbara Harvey (Architectural Control Committee Chairperson), Joyce Dobbs (Ridgettes Chairperson), and Carole Robinson (Newsletter Editor).

Minutes of the last regular meeting of July 12, 2007, were approved without corrections or amendments.

Ralph Legg reported a positive balance and that 93 of the 150 property owners are members of  the association.

As Dick Feaster, the chairperson for the Block Captains/Neighborhood Watch, has resigned, it was decided that the Board would solicit a current member to take over that responsibility.  Also, Joyce Dobbs has volunteered to replace Dick Feaster as the block captain for Area 6.   She will solicit a deputy and report back to the Board.   There was a discussion of the revised Block Captain/Neighborhood Watch guidelines.  Adoption of Block Captain/Neighborhood Watch guidelines was tabled until the next scheduled meeting after the appointment of the new chairperson.

Barbara Harvey reported that the problem with the noisy pool pump had been resolved.  She also reported that she and her committee are diligently keeping an eye on the lot development by Mr. Varvel.  The County will notify her if any plans for development are submitted including those for grading for driveways or lot line adjustment.   Dave Shoemaker has indicated that he plans an addition to his garage.  Plans for this addition will need to be submitted.

Carole Pfoutz reported that there had been no activity by the CC&R Committee.

Joyce Dobbs expressed her thanks to  Betty Nester for coordinating the Ridgettes’ luncheon at Mia’s in August.   She announced that the September Games Day will be held at Carole Pfoutz’ home on Sept. 12.   The group will meet for a luncheon at Cover’s in October and at Carole Robinson’s on Nov. 7 for An Afternoon Tea.  The December meeting date and place are TBA.

Don Nester reported that he has been working on inputing the Ridgewood II’s CC&Rs on the website.

November 5, 2007, was set as the deadline for input for the next newsletter to be mailed  on November 12.  Information to be included in the next newsletter includes a sign-up for membership , the Ridgettes’ schedule, Block Captain information, a reminder of the building regulations found in the CC&Rs, an article on flora in the Ridgewood area, and an article on using care when driving in the neighborhood as there are many walkers.

There have been no recent concerns about barking dogs.   Don Nester will check with the county on noise ordinances.

Several ideas were expressed about co-ops for driveway sealing and brush clearing.  Members will be polled on their ideas in the next newsletter.  Obstructions at several intersections caused by shrubs and trees were discussed.   It was decided that they were the responsibility of the individual homeowners and no action by the Association was necessary.  A suggestion that Ridgewood Neighborhood Association make a $50 donation to the Twain Harte Concerts in the Pines was tabled.  Several suggestions for the  location for the Christmas Party were made.  Don Nester will ask the Union Democrat to include a listing for the Ridgewood Neighborhood Association in their Tuolumne County Information supplement.  Barbara Harvey shared information about emergency evacuation preparedness.  The Board found this to be very valuable and will be included in the next newsletter.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for 3 PM on November 5, 2007, at the home of Carole and Richard Robinson.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM.

 Respectfully submitted,

Forrest Dobbs, Secretary
