Ridgewood Neighborhood Association
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on Nov. 3, 2008
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 3:10 PM at the home of Lee and Sandy Piercey. Board members in attendance were President Don Nester, Vice-president Dave Palmer, Secretary Forrest Dobbs, Treasurer Ralph Legg, Member-at-Large Sandy Piercey, Carole Pfoutz (CC&R Committee Chairperson), Joyce Dobbs (Ridgettes Chairperson), Barbara Harvey (Architectural Control Committee Chairperson), and Carole Robinson (Newsletter Editor).
Minutes of the last regular meeting of September 15, 2008 were approved without corrections or amendments.
Treasurer Ralph Legg reported a positive balance as of October 31, 2008.
President Nester reported the resignation of Cori Frank as the chairperson of the Neighborhood Watch/Block Captain Committee. Discussion followed regarding finding a replacement as well as a possible need to replace one of the area block captains. Barbara Harvey reported that plans for the Tiraschi home on Lot 68 are still being completed and will be submitted to her committee after the first of the year. Joyce Dobbs reported that the Games Day/Pot Luck at Margaret Addison’s home in October was enjoyed by all. The November 19 Games Day/Pot Luck will be at the home of Nancy Hoffman. Ms. Dobbs also reiterated that her term is up on December 31 and no one has volunteered to fill this position. The website membership list will be updated soon. Items for the next newsletter should be forwarded to Carole Robinson by Nov. 7. She will send a preliminary copy to Board members by Nov. 11 with the final copy being mailed on November 14.
President Nester reviewed the Board’s standing on the CSA Road Brushing and Vegetation Control. He will include an article in the next newsletter to all property owners on their responsibility for the care and maintenance of their properties for the betterment of Ridgewood. This will be followed up with a letter to property owners with undeveloped properties. In February, 2009 a general letter will be sent to all residents stating the need for individual lot care so property values can be maintained and savings can be realized when the County doesn’t have to perform brushing and vegetation control.
The Annual Holiday Party/General Meeting will be at the home of Ray and Carole Pfoutz on December 21 from 2 to 5 PM.
Nominations for the offices of President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the term to begin July 1, 2009 are being called for.
President Nester will contact the home owners on Ridgefield Court about the need to remove the tree planted in the turnabout.
The Board approved expenditures up to $35 for gifts to be sent to Ridgewood residents during illness.
A motion was passed (Piercey/Legg) that the annual awards for home holiday decorations will be made only to current Ridgewood Association members and no resident may win two years in a row.
The next regular Board meeting will be held on February 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the home of Don and Betty Nester.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Forrest Dobbs, Secretary
