Ridgewood Neighborhood Association

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on Feburary 02, 2009

The regular meeting of the board of Directors was called to order at 3:14 PM at the home of Don and Betty Nester.  Board members in attendance were President Don Nester, Vice-president Dave Palmer, Secretary Forrest Dobbs, Treasurer Ralph Legg, Member-at-Large Sandy Piercey, Carole Pfoutz (CC&R Committee Chairperson), and Conny Simonis (Newsletter Editor.)

Minutes of the last regular meeting of November 3, 2008, were approved without corrections or amendments.

Treasurer Ralph Legg reported a positive balance as of January 31, 2009.

The Board adopted its 2009 budget.  The budget of $950 allows for $100 in party expenses, $500 for postage and copies, and miscellaneous expenses of $350.  These amounts are predicated on the expenses incurred in 2008.  With dues and donations  the projected income is $1000.

President Nester reported that no replacement has been found for the position of chairperson of the Neighborhood Watch/Block Captain Committee.   In addition, we now need a replacement for Block 1.  Board members were asked to solicit residents to fill these two positions.  Dave Palmer reported on the new composition of the Architectural Control Committee.  This committee now consists of Dave Palmer (Chair) and members Marty Gerbasi and Joan Bergsund.  The committee has received a note from Jim and Justine Eller, the owners of Lot 33, that they plan to build this year and will submit plans as soon as possible.  No action has been taken by the CC&R Committee since our last meeting.  Postcards have been mailed announcing that the next meeting of the Ridgettes will be hosted by Diane Jacobsohn on February 18 at 11:30 AM at the Bewok Restaurant. The location of the March 18 meeting will be announced later.  President Nester indicated he is continuing to update the website resident list.  Conny Simonis, the new newsletter editor, proposed a change in format, making the newsletter more reader-friendly.  The Board set February 6 as the date that all information for inclusion in the newsletter should be sent to Conny, with February 13 the proposed date for printing.  The newsletter will include a reminder to those who are in arrears with their dues.

President Nester will send a letter to those residents specifically identified as needing road brushing and vegetation control in hopes that they will follow through on their individual properties, thus not incurring expensive County involvement.

The Board is still seeking residents to fill the offices of president, secretary, and member-at-large which will become vacant at of June 30, 2009.  Board members were asked to call residents who might consider being nominated for one of these positions.

The next regular Board meeting will be held on April 13, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the home of Ralph and Jeanne Legg.

As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:40 PM.

 Respectfully submitted,

 Forrest Dobbs, Secretary
