RIDGEWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on August 10, 2009
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at
3:00 PM at the home of Carole and Ray Pfoutz. Board members in
attendance were President Dave Palmer, Vice President Bim Hastings,
Treasurer Ralph Legg, Secretary Kathie Isaac-Luke, CC&R Committee
Chairperson Carole Pfoutz, Ridgette Chairperson Carole Robinson, Don
Nester (Website Committee,) Newsletter Editor Conny Simonis, and
Member-at-Large Forrest Dobbs.
Minutes of the last regular meeting of April 13, 2009 were approved
and accepted.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Ralph Legg reported a positive balance as of
August 7, 2009. There are now 97 members.
BLOCK CAPTAIN COMMITTEE REPORT: There is still a shortage of two Block
Captains and members need to be recruited for these positions. Carole
Pfoutz suggested that the board might consider making the Block
Captain Chairperson a shared position.
ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE REPORT: Dave Palmer reported that there were
two junk cars parked in an empty lot on Crestridge Ave. He will
contact the lot owner. In June the architectural committee reviewed a
new fence that had already been completed. The committee is supposed
to review projects before building begins, and Dave Palmer wrote a
letter to this effect to the Ridgewood residents who built the fence.
These residents stated they did not know about the CC&Rs.
WEBSITE COMMITTEE REPORT: Don Nester reported that he has updated the
website with a current residents' list and the new officer's list. He
has posted pictures from the summer party on the website. The propane
prices have been updated and are now on the website. Don stated that
he will continue to update the activities page. It was suggested that
links be added for activities so that changes would not have to be
typed in. There will be one page for real estate, including pictures
of homes for sale with pricing. The CC&Rs are located on the Ridgewood
website if any residents need to refer to them.
CC&R COMMITTEE: This committee had nothing to report.
RIDGETTES: Carole Robinson reported that the next Ridgette luncheon
would be hosted by Sandy Fisher on Wednesday, August 19 at Toukie's
restaurant at 145 South Washington St. in downtown Sonora. The
September luncheon will be a potluck at the home of Kathi Bramblett.
Carole will send a postcard to the Ridgettes in September.
NEWSLETTER: Conny Simonis reported that material for the newsletter
should be submitted from August 15 to 18. The target date for printing
the newsletter will be August 28, 2009. The August newsletter will
include a message from the president, information about water
conservation and pictures from the Summer party. Conny also plans to
include regular features highlighting news about Ridgewood neighbors.
OLD BUSINESS: Dave Palmer reported that the sand sealing operation on
the Ridgewood CSA #32 roads had been completed on July 12, 2009. The
total cost of the project was $17,492. Ten percent of the cost has
been held back to pay for the marking and striping, which has not yet
been completed.
NEW BUSINESS: Dave Palmer reported that 150 Ridgewood residents lost
power on July 30, 2009 without notification. He contacted PG&E and was
told that this was a scheduled maintenance and residents should have
been notified 10 days prior to the maintenance. PG&E assured him this
would not happen again.
Dave Palmer reported that there have been some recent burglaries in
Ridgewood. Several residents reported missing plants and driveway
lights. The Sheriff's Department was notified. The Sheriff's
Department said that similar thefts have recently occurred, and that
they have already increased the number of patrols in Ridgewood.
Carole Pfoutz presented a plaque to Don Nester in appreciation of his
two years of excellent service as President of the Ridgewood Board of
Directors.
The next regular Board meeting will be held at 3:00PM on Monday,
November 2 at the home of Dave and Judith Palmer.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kathie Isaac-Luke, Secretary
