RIDGEWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors on April 25, 2011

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 3:00 PM at the home of Dave and Judith Palmer. Board members in attendance were President Dave Palmer, Vice President Bim Hastings, Treasurer Ralph Legg, Secretary Kathie Isaac-Luke, and Webmaster Don Nester.

Minutes of the last regular meeting of February 7, 2011 were approved and accepted.

TREASURER'S REPORT:  Ralph Legg reported a positive balance, but noted that renewals for 2011 are behind schedule. Dues have been collected from 66 homeowners, which represents 45% of total properties. The treasurer's report was approved and accepted.

BLOCK CAPTAIN COMMITTEE REPORT: Dave Palmer reported that there is still a shortage of one Block Captain. Dave will continue to make phone calls to try to recruit a volunteer. Also, a Block Captain chairperson is still needed. An announcement will be placed in the newsletter inviting any and all who wish to participate.

ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE REPORT:  This committee had nothing to report.

WEBSITE COMMITTEE REPORT:  Don Nester reported that he is keeping the propane prices posted on the website. The bill for the website has been received and turned over to the treasurer.

CC&R COMMITTEE:  Dave Palmer reported that he met with Jim Reed from the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office and obtained some additional materials for the Neighborhood Watch Program.

RIDGETTES: In the absence of Carole Robinson, there was no report from this committee.

NEWSLETTER: In the absence of newsletter editor, Conny Simonis, Dave Palmer reported that the deadline for submitting material for the newsletter is May 9th, 2011.

NEW BUSINESS:  Dave Palmer reported that Bob and Linda Parriott have volunteered to have the annual RNA summer party at their home on Sunday, June 12 at 2:00 pm. An announcement will go out in the newsletter. Dave Palmer will provide soda, water, ice, cups, paper plates, napkins and utensils.

Ralph Legg reported that the Amerigas Propane agreement has been extended and that the current price of $2.17 per gallon is very competitive.

Dave Palmer reported that the weed abatement program has been completed with good results.

Dave talked to Kevin Burns from Tuolumne County Offices about the planned repair of the drainage problem at the corner of Ridgewood and Parkridge Drives. There is a gap between the two drains there and the County has agreed to design the project and make necessary repairs. Dave Palmer and Bim Hastings will meet with him again before the design is finalized.

Dave Palmer reported that Form 990N has been filed with the IRS for tax year 2010.

A discussion was held about the role of the RNA board and it was decided that it was important to make sure it keeps going forward and continues to interface with Tuolumne County. Bim Hastings volunteered to handle interfacing with the County.

Dave Palmer reported that the terms of the current RNA board members will expire on July 1, 2011. Board members may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms. Dave Palmer reported that Sandy Piercey had volunteered to fill the treasurer's position being vacated by Ralph Legg in December, 2011. Also, the president, secretary and member at large board positions are up for election on July 1, 2011. An announcement will be placed in the newsletter seeking volunteers who are interested in filling these positions on the board.

The next regular Board meeting will be held at the RNA summer party at the home of Bob and Linda Parriott on June 12, starting at 2:00 pm.

As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:20 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Kathie Isaac-Luke,

Secretary
