RIDGEWOOD I, II & III
BOARD MINUTES OF JULY 20, 2004

The committee met at the home of Nancy and Larry Bertuccelli.  In attendance were  Carole and Ray Pfoutz, Larry Bertuccelli, Dick Feaster, Don Nester, Carole Robinson, Sandy Piercey, and Iris Gardner.

Carole Pfoutz started the meeting by welcoming Don Nester and Iris Gardner in their new status as members of the Board.   It was decided that Iris Gardner would send notes of appreciation to Don Denhard and Scott Gray for their past services on the Board.

Carole reported that approximately 45 residents had attended the annual meeting.  Unfortunately, Paolo Maffei, our scheduled speaker, was unavoidably detained and arrived too late for most of the attendees to hear him.  Those that had remained were quite favorably impressed by both Paolo and his wife Janet.

Minutes were not read as they had been distributed by E-mail at an earlier date and approved by all Board members.

Iris Gardner gave the Treasurer's report:  costs for the upper Ridgewood sign was $1038, for the lower sign $218.  A total of $1256 was spent for both signs.

Dick Feaster complimented everyone who had worked on the signs, i.e., Ray Pfoutz, Larry Bertuccelli, Dick Feaster, Tom Bates, and Lee Piercey for an outstanding job.  Ray Pfoutz is going to take a picture of the upper sign so it can become part of our logo for newsletters and correspondence.

Dick went on to report that he had received complaints about large diesel trucks that had been allowed to park on the Westbie property while working on a nearby job, which was in violation of the CC&R's.  They have since moved on, so there was no need for action on this matter.  Discussion ensued about the need for additional block captains, co-captains, etc. and how to go about finding people willing to help.  Carole Pfoutz is going to talk to new homeowner Diane Jacobsohn to see if she might be interested and Don Nester will put a notice on the web site.

There were several compliments to Don Nester for the terrific job he's done in setting up the new web site.  He is constantly refining and adding to it and asked that Board members suggest any changes they would like to see made.   Iris E-mails Don with any changes or corrections she receives on the forms that are submitted when residents mail their dues, and he will meet with Jim Hodges at some point to get a correct, updated list.

Sandy Piercey discussed the lack of interest in the July Ridgette's event planned for Pinecrest and it was decided that in the future these activities would take place at people's homes or in restaurants.

Someone is needed to handle matters requiring calls to the County Road Department, replacing Scott Gray who is no longer on the Board.  Don Nester volunteered, and will call Berry Binum regarding complaints about a pine tree partially obstructing traffic on Parkridge Avenue between Crestridge and Ridgewood.  Don has also been contacting various departments in an effort to get his street, Avenida del Sol, shown on all County maps.  So far he's had no luck but is actively pursuing this effort.

Carole Pfoutz is serving her last term as President and suggested we start thinking about who will be replacing her on the Board.  The subject of by-laws arose and it was decided that this need should be addressed as soon as possible in order to provide guidance in how we should proceed in the areas of elections, adding members to the Board, term limits, etc.  To facilitate this, Larry Bertuccelli is going to work up a draft which will be presented to the Board for refinement.

Carole Robinson said that the next newsletter is scheduled to come out in November.

The next meeting of the Board will be at 3 p.m., September 21, at the home of Dick and Jan Feaster.

Respectfully submitted,

Iris R. Gardner
Secretary-Treasurer
