Know your neighbors.

Inform at least two of your neighbors when you plan to be away.

When your neighbors are away, watch for items left in their driveway.

When you plan to be away, have your mail, and newspaper stopped.

Make sure your house number is clearly visible from the road.  The number should be reflective.   Signs are available at local hardware stores or from the Sheriff’s Department.

Are all entry points, such as front door and garage doors, well lit?

When you are away, do you put timers on several lights inside your home?  Do the lights come on at different times?
